- Base
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup margarine or 3/4 cup oil
- Filling
- 2 large eggs
- 1 egg yolk
- 1 1/2 cups brown sugar
- 1/4 cup flour
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 cup maraschino cherry, chopped
- 1/2 cup walnuts, chopped
Directions

1Combine the flour, margarine and sugar in a bowl well.

2Pat into a 9 x 13 inch pan .

3Bake 350 degrees for 12 minutes.

4Remove and let cool slightly while preparing the filling.

6Beat together the eggs, yolk, brown sugar, flour, salt, and powder.

7Add in the chopped nuts and cherries.

8Pour over baked crust and return to oven at 350 degrees for another 20 to 25 minutes.

9Remove and cool completely. Cut into bars.
