  • 2 c. all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 c. butter or margarine
  • 1/2 c. icing sugar
  • 1 tsp. almond extract
  • 1 1/2 c. finely chopped nuts
  • 1 jar candied cherry halves

Directions

    Blend butter and icing sugar until smooth.

    Add dry ingredients and blend well.

    Add almond extract and nuts; mix well.

    Chill dough until easy to handle.

    Shape dough into 1-inch balls.

    Bake for 12 to 15 minutes at 350° to 375°.

    Makes about 4 1/2 dozen.
