  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter at room temperature
  • 1 egg slightly beaten
  • 1 tsp lemon peel
  • 3/4 cup plain yogurt or 1/2 cup buttermilk
  • 1 1/4 cup dried cherries, or fresh berries such as blueberries, raspberries
