- 3/4 c. sugar
- 1/2 c. butter or margarine
- 2 eggs
- 2 c. sifted all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 c. buttermilk
- 1 c. chopped pecans
- 1 (10 oz.) jar maraschino cherries, drained and chopped
- 1 tsp. vanilla
Directions

1In a large mixing bowl, cream together sugar, butter and eggs until light and fluffy.

2Sift together flour, soda and salt; add to creamed mixture with the buttermilk.

3Beat until blended.

4Stir in nuts, cherries and vanilla.

5Pour batter into greased 9 x 5 x 3-inch loaf pan.

6Bake in 350° oven for 55 to 60 minutes.

7Remove from pan; cool.
