- 1 lb. red candied cherries
- 4 c. chopped pecans
- 3 1/4 c. sifted flour
- 1 c. oleo
- 3 c. sugar
- 1/2 tsp. ground mace
- 8 eggs, separated
- 1/3 c. orange juice
Directions

1Combine cherries, pecans and 1/4 cup flour; set aside.

2Cream oleo, 2 cups sugar and mace until light and fluffy.

3Add egg yolks, 2 at a time, beating well after each addition.

4Add remaining flour alternately with orange juice to creamed mixture. Add cherries and mix.

5Beat egg whites until foamy.

6Gradually add remaining sugar and beat until stiff, glossy peaks form.

7Fold egg whites into batter.
