Cherry Pecan Pound Cake

- 1 c. margarine, softened
- 1 1/2 c. sugar
- 4 eggs
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1/2 tsp. almond extract
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/8 tsp. nutmeg
- 1 1/2 c. flour
- 10 oz. jar maraschino cherries, drained and chopped
- 1 c. chopped pecans
Directions

1In a large mixing bowl beat butter and sugar with an electric mixer at medium speed until light and fluffy.

2Add eggs, vanilla, almond, salt and nutmeg.

3Beat until thoroughly blended.

4Reduce speed to low.

5Add flour, one half cup at a time.

6Beat until just blended.

7Stir in cherries and pecans.

8Spread batter evenly in greased and floured 9 x 5 x 3-inch loaf pan.

9Bake at 325° until done, 60 to 70 minutes.
