  • 1/2 c. butter
  • 3/4 c. sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 2 c. sifted flour
  • 1 c. buttermilk
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 10 oz. jar maraschino cherries, chopped and drained
  • 1 c. pecans, chopped

    Preheat oven to 350°.

    Grease and flour a 9 x 5 x 3-inch pan. In a large bowl, combine butter, sugar and eggs; beat with mixer until creamy. Add soda, salt, flour and buttermilk. Mix on low until blended. Fold in vanilla, cherries and nuts. Bake 60 minutes.
