  • 3/4 c. cherry juice
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 4 tbsp. cornstarch
  • dash salt
  • 3 Tbsp. butter
  • few drops red food coloring
  • 3 c. canned, pitted sour cherries, drained
  • 1 recipe plain pastry

Directions

    Combine juices, 1/2 c. sugar, cornstarch and salt.

    Cook until thick.

    Add butter and remaining sugar, food coloring.

    Pour over cherries in pastry lined pie pan.

    Put a top crust.

    Bake in hot oven (400°) 45 minutes to 1 hour.

    If not sweet enough, sweeten to taste.
