  • 2 Tbsp. butter
  • 1 1/4 c. sugar
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 1/2 c. canned cherries
  • 1/8 tsp. salt
  • 3/4 c. milk
  • 1/4 c. cherry juice
  • 1 c. flour

    Cream together butter and 1 cup sugar.

    Sift together flour, baking soda and salt.

    Add dry ingredients and milk to creamed mixture alternately.

    Pour into greased baking dish.

    Combine cherries with remaining sugar and juice; heat.

    Pour over batter. Bake at 350° for 35 to 40 minutes.

    Serve warm from dish.
