- 1 c. sugar
- 2 rounded tsp. baking powder
- vanilla
- butter (size of an egg)
- 1 c. milk
- 1 tsp. salt
- 3 or 3 1/2 c. flour (for stiff batter)
Directions

1Mix well and put in a greased pan about the size of a number 8 skillet.

2Over this, put drained cherries from can.

3To juice, add enough water to make 2 cups.

4To this, add 1 3/4 cups sugar, 1 teaspoon salt and dash of nutmeg.

5Let raise to a boil and pour over batter and cherries.

6Bake about 45 minutes.

7Do not try to remove from pan until ready to serve.

8Make this of berries and peaches, too.
