- 1 cup flour
- 1/2 t. salt
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 t. baking soda
- 2 cups canned tart cherries, drained, juice reserved
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup whipping cream
Directions

1Preheat oven to 350.

2Spray or grease an 8x8 baking pan.

3Drain cherries, reserving 1/2 cup of juice. Mix flour, salt, 1 cup of sugar, baking soda and cherry juice together in a medium bowl.

4Pour into prepared pan.

5Bake for 50 minutes.

6When cake is done, prepare sauce by heating butter, 1 cup of sugar and whipping cream in a small saucepan. Bring just to a boil, then remove from heat. Drizzle lavishly over squares of cake.
