Cherry Ring Salad

  • 2 c. canned dark sweet cherries, pitted
  • 1 c. cherry syrup and water
  • 1 (3 oz.) pkg. cherry flavored gelatin
  • 3/4 c. sherry or Chianti wine
  • 40 tiny marshmallows or 10 large marshmallows, cut in quarters

Directions

    Drain syrup from cherries and add to water to make one cup. In a saucepan, bring syrup almost to boiling and add to cherry flavored gelatin, stirring until dissolved.

    Add sherry or Chianti.

    Pour into an 8-inch ring mold and chill until mixture begins to set.

    Add pitted cherries and marshmallows.

    Chill until firm.
