- 1/2 c. sugar
- 2 Tbsp. cornstarch
- 1 (No. 2) can pitted red cherries and juice
- 1/8 tsp. salt
- 1/4 tsp. lemon extract
- 1/4 tsp. almond extract
- 1 layer baked white cake
Directions

1Blend sugar and cornstarch in 9-inch skillet, add cherries, juice, salt and extracts.

2Cook over low flame, stirring constantly 3 minutes, or until juice is thick and clear.

3Place cake layer on top of mixture, cover, continue cooking over very low flame for 5 minutes or until cake is heated through.

4Invert on serving plate and serve with whipped cream.
