- 6 egg whites
- 3/4 tsp. cream of tartar
- 2 c. granulated sugar
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 2 c. broken saltine crackers
- 3/4 c. chopped nuts
- 2 pkg. Dream Whip or 12 oz. Cool Whip
- 1 (No. 2) can cherry pie filling
Directions

1Beat egg whites very stiff along with cream of tartar.

2Slowly add sugar and vanilla.

3Fold in nuts and crackers.

4Grease 9 x 13-inch pan.

5Pour in and spread evenly.

6Bake about 24 minutes in 350° oven.

7Cool.

8If using Dream Whip, whip and spread on torte. Top with pie filling.

9Chill 4 hours.

10Can be kept several days in refrigerator without getting soggy.
