- 1 c. butter
- 1 3/4 c. sugar
- 4 eggs
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 3 c. flour
- 1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
- 1 can cherry pie filling
Directions

1Cream sugar and butter; add eggs and vanilla, then mix flour with baking powder.

2Put 2/3 of the batter in a 12 x 15-inch bar pan and cover with 1 can cherry pie filling mixed with 1/2 teaspoon almond extract.

3Drop

4remaining 1/3 batter by teaspoons on top of cherry mixture.

5Bake at 350° for 40 minutes.

6Frosting is optional.
