- 8 cups pitted sweet cherries
- 5 cups white vinegar

1Combine cherries and vinegar in a stainless or enamel pot.

2Bring to a boil.

3Boil gently for 15 minutes.

4Meanwhile sterilize 4 1/2 pint jars.

5Pour vinegar mixture thourgh 2-3 layers of wet cheesecloth.

6Return vinegar to the pot and boil for 1 minute more.

7Ladle into clean hot jars.

8Process in a boiling water bath for 5 minutes.
