  • 3/4 c. butter or margarine
  • 8 c. bread cubes, toasted in oven
  • 5 c. chestnuts (canned or fresh), coarse chopped
  • 1/3 c. chopped parsley
  • 1 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 1/2 c. chicken broth, heated
  • 2 c. onions
  • 2 tsp. rubbed sage
  • 1/4 tsp. pepper

Directions

    In a large saucepan, melt butter or margarine.

    Add onions and saute until tender, but not brown.

    Stir remaining ingredients, except broth, over mixture.

    Toss lightly with a fork to moisten. Makes 14 servings, about 140 calories per 1/2 cup serving.
