Ingredients

  • 6 chicken legs, boned and skin removed, cut into 4 pieces each
  • 2 cans chicken soup
  • 1 green pepper, sliced thin
  • 1 lb. Mozzarella cheese
  • 1 red or Spanish onion, sliced thin (round)
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • dash of thyme

Directions

    Braise chicken on both sides.

    Place in layers in deep dish chicken, then pepper and onion, over and over until full to top. Add salt and pepper to taste.

    Add water to soup and pour over chicken.

    Add thyme.

    Do not stir.

    Place in oven and cook at 325° for 1 1/2 hours (test for doneness before adding cheese).

    Add cheese the last 10 minutes to melt.
