Chicken 'N Dumplings

- 1 whole fryer
- 2 c. all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
- 2 Tbsp. shortening
- 2 eggs
- sweet milk
Directions

1Boil fryer until tender. Remove from broth and set aside to cool. Mix dry ingredients.

2Cut in shortening.

3Add beaten eggs and enough milk to make a stiff dough. Roll out really thin on heavily floured board.

4Cut into pieces (pizza cutter works great!).

5Drop into rapidly boiling broth.

6Cover and simmer on very low heat for 5 to 10 minutes. Remove skin and bones from chicken and pull into bite size pieces.

7Add chicken to pot and season to taste with black pepper.

8I pour about a cup of sweet milk in pot just as it's finished cooking.
