Chicken Nugget Casserole

  • 1 pound Ziti Pasta
  • 3 Tablespoons Butter
  • 3 Tablespoons Flour
  • 1- 1/2 cup Milk
  • 2 ounces, weight Cream Cheese
  • 1/2 Tablespoons Minced Garlic
  • 1/2 teaspoons Nutmeg
  • 1 jar (24 Oz. Size) Spaghetti Sauce
  • 13- 1/2 ounces, weight Frozen, Precooked Chicken Nuggets
  • 1- 1/2 cup Shredded Mozzarella Cheese

Directions

    Boil pasta according to package instructions but subtract 2 minutes from the recommended boiling time.

    Melt butter in a medium saucepan over medium heat, sprinkle with flour and whisk continuously.

    Add milk and cook until thickened, then add cream cheese, garlic, and nutmeg.

    Cook this until cream cheese is melted.

    Turn off the heat and set aside.

    Put 1 cup of spaghetti sauce in the bottom of a 9 x 13 pan and spread evenly.

    Toss 1/2 of the pasta on top of the sauce, now all of the milk/cream cheese mixture, then the other half of the noodles.

    Top with the remaining spaghetti sauce.

    Place chicken nuggets on top of the casserole in an even layer and sprinkle mozzarella cheese on top.

    Bake at 350 degrees F for 30 minutes.
