- slices of ham or bacon
- 2 c. rice
- 2 hard-boiled eggs (optional)
Directions

1Place hen in a pot with ham or bacon slices.

2Simmer until well done and remove the chicken from pot and keep warm.

3Take 1 quart of fat stock.

4Save for gravy.

5Add enough water to make 3 cups.

6Add 2 cups rice and simmer slowly until all liquid is absorbed.

7Cut up the chicken and mash the eggs and mix with gravy.
