- 2 1/2 to 3 lb. fryer
- 1 can cream of onion soup or cream of mushroom soup
- 1/2 tsp. black pepper
- 1 c. buttermilk
- 2 c. reserved broth
- 1 stick melted margarine
- 1 c. self-rising flour
- 1 can English peas, drained
Directions

1Cook chicken.

2Remove from bone and cut in small pieces. Place in 13 x 9 x 2-inch pan.

3In a saucepan, mix and bring to a boil soup and broth.

4In a bowl, mix melted margarine, pepper, flour and buttermilk.

5Mix thoroughly to form a batter.

6Pour broth and soup mixture over chicken.

7Add peas and spoon the batter over top.

8Bake at 425° for 25 to 30 minutes.
