- 1 Tbsp. oil
- 2 Tbsp. soy sauce
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 1 clove garlic (optional)
- 1 fryer, cut up (about 3 lb.)
- 3/4 Tbsp. ginger
- pepper
- 2 1/4 to 2 1/2 c. hot water
- 1 chicken bouillon cube
- 1 c. rice
Directions

1In skillet or electric frypan, stir together oil, soy sauce, onion and garlic.

2Add chicken and brown over medium heat.

3Season with ginger and pepper.

4Push chicken to center with pieces overlapping.

5Pour 2 1/4 cups water around chicken and add bouillon and rice.

6Cover and simmer about 35 minutes.

7Add 1/4 cup water, if needed.
