- 2 tsp. salt
- 2 tsp. butter or margarine
- 1 c. diced cooked chicken
- 2 Tbsp. flour
- 1/8 tsp. pepper
- 1 small can (2/3 c.) evaporated milk
- 1 1/3 c. water (for sauce)
- 4 slices American cheese (4 oz.)

Directions

1Combine rice, celery, peas, 2 cups water and 1 teaspoon salt in medium saucepan; heat to bubbling.

2Cover and simmer 12 minutes or until water is absorbed and rice is tender.
