  • 1 c. sliced celery
  • 1 (10 oz.) pkg. frozen green peas
  • 2 c. water (for rice)
  • 2 tsp. salt
  • 2 tsp. butter or margarine
  • 1 c. diced cooked chicken
  • 2 Tbsp. flour
  • 1/8 tsp. pepper
  • 1 small can (2/3 c.) evaporated milk
  • 1 1/3 c. water (for sauce)
  • 4 slices American cheese (4 oz.)
  • paprika

Directions

    Combine rice, celery, peas, 2 cups water and 1 teaspoon salt in medium saucepan; heat to bubbling.

    Cover and simmer 12 minutes or until water is absorbed and rice is tender.
