Ingredients

  • sliced white bread (1 large loaf), remove crust
  • 1 c. diced green pepper
  • 1 c. diced onion
  • 1 c. diced celery
  • 4 c. boiled chicken, cooked and cubed
  • 1 c. mayonnaise
  • 2 cans cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 c. grated cheese (sharp Cheddar)
  • 3 c. milk
  • 3 beaten eggs
  • paprika

Directions

    Line 10 x 13-inch pan with bread.

    Saute onion, celery and pepper in butter.

    Combine with cooked chicken; add mayonnaise. Spread over layer of bread.

    Top with another layer of bread.

    Beat eggs and milk; pour over top.

    Pour mushroom soup over next.

    Top with grated cheese and paprika.

    Bake at 325° for 1 hour and 15 minutes or until bubbly.
