- 1 fryer, cut up
- enough water to cover fryer in pot
- 1 small piece red pepper
- 1/2 tsp. sage
- approximately 1 pt. plus 1 c. milk
- 1/2 stick margarine
- 2 heaping Tbsp. flour
- salt and pepper
Directions

1Cook chicken with red pepper and sage in enough water to cover the chicken.

2Let cool.

3Pick chicken off the bones, making sure all skin, fat, gristle and cartilage are removed.

4Break chicken into bite size pieces.

5Put back into broth and bring to a slow bowl.

6Mix in the pint of milk while stirring.

7Thorough mix the remaining cup of milk and flour.

8Add to broth after it begins to boil, stirring vigorously several times.

9During the cooking and stirring, skim the small pieces of fat, skin, etc., which come to the top.

10Salt and pepper to taste.
