  • 6 slices bread, crusts trimmed
  • chicken, cooked
  • 1 jar sliced mushrooms
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 can cream of celery soup
  • 1/2 c. mayonnaise
  • 1 small jar pimento
  • medium cheddar cheese, grated
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 c. milk
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 1/2 c. herb dressing mix
  • 1/3 c butter, softened

Directions

    Butter oblong baking dish; lay bread slices in dish.

    Tear chicken into pieces and lay on top bread.

    Put the mushrooms over chicken.

    Mix the soups and mayonnaise; pour over chicken.

    Add the pimento.

    Sprinkle the grated cheese on top (as much as you like).

    In a small bowl mix eggs, milk and salt.

    Pour over top. Take a knife and cut through criss-cross.

    Cover and refrigerate overnight.

    Keep covered and bake at 350 degrees for one hour. Mix the herb dressing mix and butter and sprinkle over top.

    Keep covered and bake 15 to 20 minutes more.
