Chickpea Soup

Ingredients

  • 240 g chickpeas
  • 240 g lentils
  • 3 cups stock
  • 4 cups water
  • 2 onions, diced
  • 2 teaspoons olive oil
  • 7 g sesame seeds
  • 1 tablespoon cumin
  • 60 g bacon, diced
  • 1 tablespoon chili flakes
  • 1 carrot, chopped
  • 2 stalks celery, chopped
  • 2 garlic cloves, chopped
  • 2 teaspoons soy sauce

Directions

    Heat oil and cook carrot, onion, celery and bacon until they soften.

    Add cumin, chilli flakes, soy sauce and garlic.

    Add the chickpeas, the water and stock.

    Simmer for 30 minutes.

    Season with salt and pepper, sesame seeds and serve.
