10 steps

Ingredients

  • 2 cup jazmine rice
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 4 clove garlic
  • 1 large carrot
  • 1 tbsp salt
  • 1 large Red bell pepper

Directions

  1. 1
Rinse the rice in cold water in a strainer to get rid of any extra starch to avoid sticky and not fluffy rice
  2. 2
Chop onion, bell pepper, dice garlic and thinly slice the carrot on an angle.
  3. 3
Once the garlic has been finely diced I like to cover it in salt and crush it into a paste using the side of my knife( not necessary)
  4. 4
Bring 1/4 cup veg oil to a simmer on a low heat and add all the vegetables.
  5. 5
Low and slow so the garlic doesn't burn.
  6. 6
After the onions go translucent, add in the rice and stir all the ingredients together.
  7. 7
Then add 4 cups of water, bring to a boil, cover, and reduce heat to low
  8. 8
After about 15 minutes it should be done.
  9. 9
Pack the rice into a cup or mug and flip over for presentation.
  10. 10
I alway use siracha on this rice it compliments it very well.
