  • 1 1/2 pounds ground beef
  • 1 medium onion
  • 1 (15 ounce) can tomatoes, mashed
  • 2 tablespoons chili powder
  • 1 (15 ounce) can tomato sauce or tomato juice
  • 2 tablespoons vinegar
  • 1/2 teaspoon cloves
  • 3 (15 ounce) cans chili beans
  • Salt and pepper
  • 1 (15 ounce) can kidney beans, rinsed and drained

    Brown meat; drain.

    Saute onion.

    Add tomato sauce, vinegar, chili powder, cloves, salt, and pepper.

    Simmer 5 minutes.

    Continue to simmer 15 minutes.
