- 1 lb. ground beef
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 2 cloves crushed garlic
- 16 oz. can stewed tomatoes
- 6 oz. can tomato paste
- 2 1/2 Tbsp. chili powder
- 1 Tbsp. ground cumin
- 1/4 tsp. ground red pepper
- 2 Tbsp. granulated sugar
- 1 Tbsp. flour
Directions

1Saute crumbled ground beef, onion and garlic in large Dutch oven until browned.

2Drain.

3Add remaining ingredients, stirring well to blend.

4Simmer, uncovered, 35 to 45 minutes until thick. Keep hot in Dutch oven.

5Chili may be prepared a day ahead.

6Cover and refrigerate.

7When ready to serve, heat thoroughly.

8Makes 4 cups.
