- 8 tablespoons softened butter
- 1 1/3 cups mashed potatoes
- 1 1/4 cups flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 egg, beaten
- 2 tablespoons fennel seed
- Salt and pepper, to taste
Directions

1Preheat oven to 400 degrees.

2Mix butter and mashed potato.

3Sift in flour add salt and mix by hand.

4Knead, wrap and chill for 30 minutes.

5Roll out dough to 1/3-inch thick.

6Cut into 3-inch strips, brush with egg, top with fennel and bake on a greased sheet pan for 10 to 12 minutes.

7Sprinkle with salt and pepper.
