- 1 lb. lean ground beef
- 1 large onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, chopped
- 1 jalapeno pepper, seeded and chopped (optional)
- 1 (14 oz.) can tomatoes
- 2 tsp. chili powder
- 1 tsp. cumin (ground comino seed)
- 1 tsp. oregano
- 1 tsp. paprika
- 1/4 tsp. sage
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 1/2 c. water or beer
- 2 Tbsp. cornstarch
- 1/4 c. powdered milk
- 1 (15 oz.) can kidney beans
Directions

1Brown meat lightly.

2Add onion, garlic and spices and finish browning.

3Add tomatoes, water or beer and powdered milk and cook a minimum of 3 hours over low heat, stirring frequently.

4Add beans 1 hour before serving.
