Ingredients

  • 3 lb. ground beef
  • 1 c. cold water
  • 3/4 c. celery
  • 1/2 medium onion
  • 1 1/2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1/2 green pepper (small; optional)
  • 1/8 c. chili powder
  • 1/8 tsp. oregano leaves
  • 1/2 to 1 c. taco sauce or salsa
  • 1 (15 oz.) can chili beans
  • 1/8 tsp. marjoram leaves
  • 1/4 tsp. caraway seed (optional)
  • 1/2 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • 7/8 Tbsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. cayenne pepper

Directions

    Brown meat; add all ingredients but beans.

    Stir.

    Cover and cook 2 hours at 225°.

    Add beans and cook 30 minutes.
