  • 1/3 c. minced onion
  • 1 lb. ground round
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. pepper
  • 1 (8 oz.) and 1 (4 oz.) can tomato sauce
  • 1/2 tsp. chili powder
  • 2 Tbsp. brown sugar
  • 1 tsp. dry mustard
  • 3 Tbsp. lemon juice
  • 1 c. diced celery
  • 1 tsp. cornstarch to thicken (if necessary)

Directions

    Saute ground meat and onions until meat is brown and onions are cooked.

    Add tomato sauce, chili powder, brown sugar, tomato sauce, chili powder, brown sugar, dry mustard, lemon juice and celery.

    Simmer, stirring frequently, 45 minutes to 1 hour.

    If necessary, add cornstarch and water to thicken.

    Serve on grilled or toasted frankfurters rolls or hamburger buns.
