- 1 lb. ground beef
- 1 large onion, chopped
- 1 green pepper, chopped
- 1 (1 lb. 13 oz.) can tomatoes
- 1 large or 2 small bay leaves
- 1 to 2 Tbsp. chili powder
- 2 tsp. salt
- 1/8 tsp. cayenne pepper
- 1/8 tsp. paprika
- 1 (15 1/2 oz.) can kidney beans
Directions

1Crumble and brown ground beef in heavy skillet (no fat added). Add onion and green pepper; cook until almost tender.

2Add tomatoes, seasonings, kidney beans and bean liquid.

3Cover and simmer gently about 2 hours.

4Remove bay leaves.
