- 1 can (20 oz.) yellow hominy, drained and rinsed
- 1 Tbsp. shortening
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 1 clove garlic, pressed
- 1 c. water
- 1 Tbsp. chili seasoning mix
- 1/2 lb. American cheese, grated
Directions

1Drain and rinse hominy and set aside.

2Saute the onion in the shortening in a large pot or skillet until tender.

3Add the hominy and water.

4Simmer for 15 minutes.

5Add garlic and chili.

6Simmer about 5 minutes.

7Put in casserole pan.

8Add cheese until it melts.
