  • 1 lb. pinto beans
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 5 large potatoes
  • 3 large carrots
  • 1 small can green beans
  • 1/4 c. bacon grease
  • chili powder
  • 1 lb. hamburger
  • 2 small cans tomato sauce
  • salt and pepper

Directions

    In large pan cook beans and onion in water and bacon grease until soft.

    Dice potatoes, carrots and green beans and add to pinto beans.
  3. 3
    Brown and drain hamburger.
  4. 4
    Add this and remaining ingredients to beans.

    Cook slowly about 1 1/2 hours.
  6. 6
    Serve with crackers or corn bread.
