- 1 tablespoon butter
- 1 small onion
- 12 tablespoon cornflour
- 1 large lemon
- 12 cup split pigeon peas
- salt
- white pepper
- fresh dill (to garnish)
Directions

1Peel and chop the onion finely.

2Wash dal and cook in 3 cups water till done.

3Make a smooth puree.

4Heat butter.

5Add the chopped onion and fry gently till translucent.

6Do not brown the onion!

7Sprinkle the corn flour and contine to stir.

8Add lemon rind and dal puree.

9Boil.
-
10Keep stirring continously.

11Simmer for 5-10 minutes.

12When cool, add lemon juice and season with salt and pepper.

13Strain and chill well.
-
14Sprinkle with finely chopped dill before serving!
