Ingredients

  • 2 medium onions, chopped
  • 1 green pepper, chopped
  • 2 Tbsp. oil
  • 2 lb. lean ground beef
  • 1 (16 oz.) can tomatoes
  • 1 (15 oz.) can tomato sauce
  • 1/2 c. tomato ketchup
  • 2 Tbsp. chili powder
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. pepper
  • 2 (15 oz.) cans red kidney beans

Directions

    In large pan, saute onions and green pepper in 2 tablespoons oil.

    Add ground beef and cook until lightly browned, stirring occasionally. Drain.

    Stir in tomatoes (cut up), tomato sauce, ketchup, chili powder, salt and pepper.

    Simmer, uncovered, 30 minutes, stirring often.

    Add partially drained red kidney beans. Simmer 15 minutes longer.

    Makes about 10 cups.
