- 6 c. cooked, sliced beets
- 1 1/2 c. beet liquid
- 1 c. sugar
- 1 c. vinegar
- 2 Tbsp. cornstarch
- 24 whole cloves
- 3 Tbsp. catsup
- 3 Tbsp. cooking oil (optional)
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- dash of salt
Directions

1Drain beets and reserve 1 1/2 cups of the liquid they were cooked in.

2Place beets and ingredients that are listed plus reserved liquid in saucepan.

3Mix well and cook 3 minutes over medium heat until thickened.

4Let cool and then store in refrigerator.

5May be served hot or cold.
