- 6 c. water
- 4 c. walnut halves
- 1/2 c. sugar
- salt
- salad oil
Directions

1In large saucepan over high heat, bring water to a boil.

2Add nuts and bring to a boil.

3Cook 1 minute.

4Rinse nuts under running hot water; drain.

5In large bowl with rubber spatula, gently stir warm nuts with sugar until dissolved.

6Heat oil in a deep frypan until 350°.

7Add 1/2 the nuts and stir until light brown.

8Strain or cool on cookie sheet.

9Sprinkle with salt to taste.

10Cook remaining nuts the same.

11Cover tightly.
-
12Will keep well, 6 to 8 weeks.
