  • 1 1/2 teaspoons canola oil
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons reduced-sodium soy sauce
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons maple syrup
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons red-wine vinegar
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons grated fresh ginger
  • 1/2 teaspoon minced garlic in oil
  • 12 ounces boneless sirloin steak, 3/4 inch thick

    Combine oil, soy sauce, maple syrup, vinegar, ginger and garlic.

    Trim the external fat from the beef and cut into slices 3/4 inch thick.

    Marinate beef in mixture until it is time to cook it.

    Remove steaks from marinade and reserve the marinade.

    Prepare stove-top grill or preheat broiler.

    Grill or broil beef about 5 minutes, turning once or twice and brushing with marinade each time.
