Ingredients

  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 3/4 c. minced celery
  • 1/2 c. bread crumbs
  • 1 Tbsp. soy sauce
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1/2 c. ground, toasted pecans or almonds
  • 1 (15 1/2 oz.) can pineapple chunks, drained
  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 2 Tbsp. oil
  • 1 c. chicken broth
  • 1/2 c. vinegar
  • 1 green pepper, cut in strips
  • 2 Tbsp. soy sauce

Directions

    Combine the first 8 ingredients; shape into 1-inch balls. Dredge meatballs in 1/2 cup cornstarch.

    Pour oil into a 13 x 9 x 2-inch pan.

    Add meatballs; bake at 350° for 35 to 40 minutes. Drain and set aside.
