Chip 'N Nut Bars

Ingredients

  • 1 c. soft margarine
  • 1 3/4 c. firmly packed brown sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/3 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 2 c. flour
  • 1 Tbsp. instant coffee powder
  • 1 c. chopped nuts
  • 1 (6 oz.) pkg. semi-sweet chocolate chips

Directions

    Put all ingredients except nuts and chips together.

    Mix on lowest speed of mixer or by hand until well blended.

    Add 1/2 package chocolate chips and 1/2 cup nuts.

    Spread in a 10 x 15-inch jelly roll pan that has been coated with margarine.

    Top with remaining 1/2 package chocolate chips and 1/2 cup nuts.

    Bake at 350° for 20 to 25 minutes.

    Cool and cut into squares before serving.
