- 1 box German chocolate cake mix
- 3/4 c. butter, melted
- 1 c. chopped nuts
- 1/3 c. evaporated milk
- 1 c. chocolate chips
- 1/3 c. evaporated milk
- 1 (14 oz.) pkg. Kraft caramels
Directions

1Melt caramels and 1/3 cup evaporated milk over low heat.

2Set aside.

3Combine cake mix, butter, nuts and 1/3 cup evaporated milk. Press half this mixture into greased and floured 13 x 9-inch pan. Bake at 350° for 6 minutes.

4After removing from oven, sprinkle with chocolate chips.

5Spread caramel mixture over chips.

6Crumble rest of cake mixture on top.

7Return to oven and bake 15 to 18 minutes.

8Cool, then refrigerate 1 hour to set caramel layer.
