  • 1/2 c. butter or margarine
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 2 Tbsp. sweetened cocoa
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1 1/2 c. flour
  • 1/4 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp. cloves
  • 1 c. water
  • 1 c. peeled, shredded raw apple

Directions

    Cream together butter, sugar and cocoa. Add eggs.

    Mix dry ingredients together in a small bowl.

    Add dry ingredients to butter mixture, alternately with water, beating after each addition.

    Fold in shredded apple.
