- 2 ounces butter
- 4 cups French bread, 1 inch cube
- 3 ounces unsweetened chocolate, melted
- 1 cup milk
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 3 egg yolks
- 34 cup sugar
Directions

1Melt butter in a bowl, toss with bread.

2In a sauce pan, bring milk and cream to a boil and remove from heat.

3Add cream mixture to chocolate, whisking until combined well.

4Add egg yolk and sugar.

5Pour custard over bread.

6Let pudding stand, covered, one hour.

7Preheat oven to 350 degrees and butter a pan.

8Transfer pudding to pan and bake in middle of oven until just set, but still trembles slightly, about 50 minutes.

9Serve pudding warm or at room temperature.
