  • 1 c. sugar
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 c. plus 1 Tbsp. flour
  • 1/2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 can Hershey's chocolate syrup
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1/2 c. chopped nuts

    Cream shortening; add sugar.

    Next add 2 eggs at a time.

    Beat after each addition.

    Mix flour and baking powder; add to mixture.

    Add nut meats.

    Spray 10 x 16-inch pan; spread batter and bake at 350° for 20 to 25 minutes. Brownies may be frosted with powdered sugar icing.
