- 1 c. sugar
- 1/2 c. soft butter
- 2 eggs
- 1 c. buttermilk
- 1 3/4 c. flour
- 1/2 c. cocoa
- 1/2 tsp. baking powder
- 1/2 tsp. baking soda
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/3 c. chopped nuts
Directions

1Heat oven to 350°.

2Grease bottom of loaf pan.

3Combine sugar and butter.

4Blend thoroughly.

5Add eggs and mix well.

6Stir in buttermilk.

7Mix flour, cocoa, baking powder, soda and salt.

8Stir just until dry particles are moist.

9Stir in nuts. Pour into greased pan.

10Bake at 350° for 50 to 55 minutes or until toothpick inserted into center comes out clean.

11Cool in pan 15 minutes. Remove from pan and cool.
